Quick Shadow Control for DAZ Studio =================================== Ever had a complex scene with multiple lights, most of them with activated shadows, and then notice that there's something wrong with a texture or pose? With shadow throwing activated, 'quick' renders to see if the problem has been fixed are all but quick - but manually checking and deactivating all shadows (and - more important - remembering which ones to switch back on) isn't much better. The two small scripts provided here solve this problem. The first switches all shadow-casting on lights off, adding a (hidden) property to mark the lights as 'had a shadow'. The second script does the opposite: it looks for lights that don't cast shadows but have this marker, re-activates the shadow-casting and removes the hidden property. Both scripts tell you how many lights they switched. If is pressed while double-clicking the script (== calling it), labels of the affected lights will be gathered in a list and presented in the final message box. If is pressed, the script will additionally ask for each matching light if it should be handled or not. Both scripts are offered free of charge, and without warranty. I will not be held responsible if the script deletes your scene, formats your harddrive or drives you mad. The only thing I can honestly say is that they work properly and as described above on my own system. Installation is actually very easy - just drop the scripts (and the icons coming with them) in any subdirectory within a DAZ Studio - content-folder (NOT a Poser-content-folder mapped within D|S, but a Studio-folder). No additional steps need to be taken.
